However, this situation compels us to rethink our approach to the efficient use of energy resources. In our research, the main goal was to identify the most economically viable solutions that would enable more efficient and rational energy consumption,\u201d<\/strong> noted <strong>Olena Koltyk<\/strong>, Head of UST, during the presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UST experts were responsible for preparing the analytical report <em>\u201cAssessing the Potential for Reducing Forest Biomass Consumption.\u201d<\/em><br>The relevance of this study was driven by three key factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Energy challenges<\/strong>, particularly the need to reduce biomass use;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The need to conserve forests<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The fight against illegal logging<\/strong>.<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/ustcoalition.com.ua\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/whatsapp-image-2025-06-11-at-08.06.18.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ustcoalition.com.ua\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/whatsapp-image-2025-06-11-at-08.06.18.jpeg 940w, https:\/\/ustcoalition.com.ua\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/whatsapp-image-2025-06-11-at-08.06.18-300x251.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/ustcoalition.com.ua\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/06\/whatsapp-image-2025-06-11-at-08.06.18-768x644.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A key value of the report lies in the <strong>methodology developed for identifying and selecting territorial communities<\/strong> where it is most appropriate to implement projects aimed at reducing the use of firewood as fuel. This methodology includes detailed <strong>regional and local selection criteria<\/strong>. Focusing on regional indicators, the report presents a ranking of Ukrainian oblasts, with <strong>Kyiv, Zakarpattia, and Zhytomyr<\/strong> making the <strong>top three<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report also proposes <strong>practical solutions<\/strong> to reduce firewood consumption in public and private buildings.
